Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

China warns Washington of possible conflict

Representatives of the Chinese government have spoken about the possible danger of the course of confrontation from the United States. Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang, at a press conference held as part of the National People’s Congress (NPC) in Beijing, said Washington is betting on suppressing and containing the PRC instead of fair and rules-based competition. He accused the US administration of seriously distorting its perception of China and stressed that such a move could lead to conflicts and clashes.

Qin Gang noted that the United States sees China as its main rival and its biggest geopolitical challenge. According to him, if the United States does not change course, no barrier will be able to prevent conflicts and confrontations, which can have disastrous consequences.

“If the American authorities do not brake and continue on the wrong path, then no barrier can prevent the derailment that will lead to conflict,” he said.

Relations between the United States and China have long been strained over the trade dispute, the Taiwan dispute, alleged espionage and Beijing’s support for Russia. In recent weeks, the situation has worsened further after the alleged launch of spy balloons, one of which was shot down in February.
