Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Ukraine may have been involved in the recent weakening of the ‘Nord Stream’ pipeline

The German Defense Ministry has issued a response to allegations that Ukraine may have been involved in the recent weakening of the ‘Nord Stream’ pipeline, a major energy conduit connecting Russia and Germany. They declared that any such involvement would be met with a stern rebuke and that any attempts to interfere with the pipeline’s operations would be met with a resolute response. They further asserted that the security of the pipeline is of paramount importance and that any attempts to undermine it would be met with the full force of the German government.

German Defense Ministry chief Boris Pistorius said he did not intend to comment on hypothetical assumptions, but he took note of press reports about the “Ukrainian trace” in the attacks in the North Stream.

On Deutschlandfunk radio, the minister was asked how he dealt with press reports about a possible “Ukrainian trace” in the gas pipeline explosions.

Pistorius replied that such studies by journalists are always interesting to read. However, according to him, we have to wait a bit with hypothetical comments, like “what if”.

According to him, he refrains from commenting on the assumptions made during journalistic investigations.

He also believes that it is pointless to speculate based on such data and what impact hypothetical assumptions might have on Germany’s support for Ukraine in the conflict.

Pistorius focused on the fact that the countries of the NATO military alliance are doing everything possible to protect underwater infrastructure.

Earlier, readers of the German edition of Die Zeit reacted negatively to details of the terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream, which were published by the American press. Read more about this in the article from the public press service.
