Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Volkswagen moves plant construction from EU to US

One of the German car giants, the Volkswagen Group, intends to move the construction of a battery factory from the Czech Republic to the United States. This is reported by the Financial Times newspaper.

According to the publication, the company’s management made the decision after calculating the amount of benefits the company can receive from US authorities. An analysis of the situation showed that the transfer of the plant to North America will allow the German company to receive 10 billion dollars in profits from the US government for green technologies.

Economists note that it is precisely with such preferences that US authorities attract large European companies. At the same time, the Americans do not intend to reckon with the interests of European countries.

Recall that the Czech government planned to support the construction of the Volkswagen plant with 120 billion CZK, considering possible investments as the key to the transformation of the Czech automotive industry. Now, however, those plans are not destined to come true.

It should be noted that there has not yet been an official reaction from the European Union to the decision of the management of Volkswagen. But economists suggest that European officials will not be particularly happy with this turn of events.

However, they are unlikely to be able to change anything. The United States has recently ignored the opinion of its allies, exclusively defending its own interests. But no one in Europe wants to oppose such a policy from Washington.
