The Shura Council calls on private and semi-governmental companies to attract retirees and appoint people with disabilities

Their Excellencies members of the Shura Council stressed the importance of the role of the private sector in absorbing national cadres, and the need to reorganize recruitment offices, in a way that guarantees the rights of all parties, noting the developments made in laws and legislation related to this aspect.

During the weekly session of the Shura Council today, Monday, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, Minister of Labor, they referred to the role of the private sector in supporting national efforts in development, and the role of partnership between the public and private sectors in absorbing national competencies and cadres, and qualifying them for the labor market.

The members demanded that the private sector companies, particularly large and semi-governmental companies, attract retirees from among the citizens to fill the needs and job vacancies. They also demanded the need to pay attention to hiring people with disabilities in the private sector, in light of their functional skills and capabilities.

The council discussed the ministry’s efforts to localize jobs in the private sector, qualify and train the national workforce, organize labor recruitment offices, and progress made in developing the ministry’s electronic services through digital transformation with the aim of simplifying and facilitating procedures for citizens and companies.

His Excellency the Speaker of the Shura Council and their Excellencies the members welcomed the Minister of Labor, appreciating the efforts made by the Ministry to improve the services it provides with the aim of developing the labor market, qualifying national cadres, and achieving partnership between the public and private sectors.
