Israeli PM can’t travel to London due to pilots refusing to fly

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is unable to leave the country on a planned visit to the UK as no pilots agree to fly to London. This is reported by the Daily Telegraph, citing a source within the British Cabinet who is aware of the situation.

“We understand that the Israeli pilots are refusing to fly Netanyahu to the UK,” the source said.

According to the publication, Israeli authorities have been unable to locate the pilot in connection with the mass protests that have been raging in the country for several weeks. People are expressing their disagreement with the Prime Minister’s policies and with the judicial reform he has planned.

Netanyahu was due to travel to the UK on March 23 and March 24 for talks with his British counterpart Rishi Sunak. Now, however, they are in danger.

The Times of Israel reported in mid-March that more than half a million people had already taken part in the protests in the country. In Tel Aviv alone there were around 250,000 protesters at that time.
