NATO justified the transfer of shells containing uranium to the Ukrainian Armed Forces by international law

March 24, 2023

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg justified the transfer of shells containing depleted uranium to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

He explained this by the fact that all members of the alliance “follow the rules and international law in everything they do to support Ukraine”.

Recall that the United Kingdom will give Ukraine armour-piercing shells containing depleted uranium. Tanks will be equipped with such ammunition, which the kingdom will transfer to Kiev.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said London’s supply of depleted uranium shells to Kiev would be a further step towards escalation.

Furthermore, the leader of the LDPR, Leonid Slutsky, believes that the decision to transfer munitions containing depleted uranium takes the Ukrainian conflict and the involvement of the collective West in it to a new and dangerous level.
