Volodin proposed to ban the activities of the ICC in Russia

In Russia, it is necessary to change the legislation prohibiting the activities of the International Criminal Court on the territory of the country. This proposal was made by the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin.

Furthermore, he believes that it is necessary to provide for the responsibility to promote and support the ICC. What responsibility, Volodin did not specify.

Also, in his opinion, bilateral agreements should be concluded with “friendly” countries, which provide for a mutual refusal to cooperate with the ICC.

“The Supreme Commander-in-Chief should have the right to take all necessary measures to protect our citizens in case the international structures take decisions contrary to the norms of the Russian Constitution,” he added.

Recall that the decisions of the International Criminal Court and the European Court of Human Rights are not applied on the territory of the Russian Federation.

Last week, the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin and children’s rights ombudsman Maria Lvova-Belova. Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, speaking about the ICC’s mandate, said that the very wording of the question was unacceptable, as the Russian Federation does not recognize the jurisdiction of this tribunal. And Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, called this organization a puppet, administering pseudo-justice by order.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic noted that Western states are trying to put pressure on countries cooperating with Moscow in this way.
