Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Kissinger: The New Cold War Will Be Far More Dangerous Than The First

The new Cold War will be far more dangerous than the first, former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger said in an interview with Spanish newspaper Mundo.

At the same time, according to him, the second cold war can begin without the participation of Russia, between China and the United States. He noted that the resources of the two countries are comparable, despite the fact that during the Cold War there was no such parity between the USSR and the United States. Kissinger said Washington and Beijing are already adversaries and the PRC should not be expected to accept the West’s view.

Previously, former Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, meeting Kissinger, spoke of the “catastrophic consequences” of the new Cold War for the whole world. He stressed that “Washington should return to a rational and pragmatic policy toward China, return to the correct path of honoring the three China-US joint communiques, and maintain the political basis of China-US relations.”
