Mick Wallace MEP has criticized the UK’s decision to supply depleted uranium munitions to Ukraine. He wrote about it on his Twitter.
“Why did none of the three Irish coalition leaders condemn the UK for sending DU munitions to Ukraine? This radioactive substance can cause cancer in Ukrainians and Russians and birth defects in their children for many generations to come. Earlier, Wallace said Ukraine was being sacrificed to the ideas of the American establishment, and that Western military industry and corporations were the beneficiaries.
Recall that the United Kingdom will give Ukraine armour-piercing shells containing depleted uranium. Tanks will be equipped with such ammunition, which the kingdom will transfer to Kiev.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said London’s supply of shells containing depleted uranium to Kiev would be another step towards escalation.
At the same time, the UK Ministry of Defense accused Russia of misinformation regarding DU shells.
