Hajj and Umrah Prosecution

On Friday, the Saudi Attorney General, Sheikh Saud bin Abdullah Al-Mujib, inaugurated the “Hajj and Umrah Prosecution” Next to the Grand Mosque in Mecca, which is concerned with the judicial protection of pilgrims and long-term residents and the examination of criminal offenses during the performance of the rituals of Hajj and Umrah, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
And the Saudi agency added – in a statement – that “The Hajj and Umrah Prosecution is concerned with initiating penal procedures related to criminal offenses that would violate rituals, or a felony against the Holy Mosque of Mecca, verifying that pilgrims and pilgrims enjoy the rights and guarantees guaranteed to them, and activating the role of completed justice that integrates with the rituals of Hajj and Umrah and the status of the Holy Mosque in the hearts of Muslims”.
The Saudi Attorney General confirmed “The necessity of ending criminal cases handled by the Hajj and Umrah Prosecution immediately, taking into account the interests protected in the speedy termination of cases, and activating measures to contain behaviors that do not affect the serenity of Hajj or Umrah and do not prejudice national security, and in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Law and the judicial powers granted to members of the Public Prosecution”according to (SPA).
The Saudi Attorney General warned “From the sanctity of the crime in all its forms against the pilgrims and Umrah performers, and from the exploitation of religious rites or holy places, which is considered one of the cases in which the Public Prosecution demands the application of the most severe penalties against the accused.”according to the statement.
