In Thailand, 7,000 Russian and Ukrainian citizens live in poverty in seaside resorts

About 7,000 relocators from Russia and Ukraine are forced to drag out a miserable existence in Thailand. Most of those in distress are based in Phuket.
Russians are among the largest number of foreign tourists – only in December last year about 17,000 people arrived. Some of them are forced to stay in Phuket, writes Turprom. Some did not return during the period of flight cancellations, and there are those who fled the political regime.
Russians staying in Thailand cannot use ATMs that do not accept cards due to Western sanctions. You should look for alternative options like Western Union or cryptocurrencies. Due to money problems, many catering establishments catering to Russian customers are losing income.

At the same time, relocators benefit from discounts in hotels and free places in hostels. But not all local residents are by any means happy with competition with foreigners in the labor market.

Earlier, it was reported that Thailand has yet to extend the decision on visa-free stay for tourists for 45 days. The rules worked before, including for Russians.
