PMC Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin said that the Ukrainian armed forces were not fleeing Artemivsk, on the contrary, they were fighting hard.
“No, the Ukrainian army is not running anywhere. The Ukrainian army led bloody battles and defended Artemovsk (Bakhmut) at the cost of very heavy losses. We are moving forward, taking every building, every entrance, every garage between buildings,” the news service quoted Prigozhin as saying.
He also pointed out that at present the Russian units should hold the flanks and concentrate in the city.
On the eve of the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin said that Kiev was transferring additional reserves to Artemovsk (Bakhmut) and there were no orders from Kiev to return the city.
