Putin congratulated Lukashenka on the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko on the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. In a congratulatory telegram, the Russian leader noted that despite the sanctions, Moscow and Minsk are effectively coordinating their efforts on the international stage.
“Dear Alexander Grigorievich, please accept our warmest congratulations on the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Russia and Belarus…Despite the unprecedented pressure of sanctions from outside, we are effectively coordinating efforts on the international arena, in the field of defense and security, and to successfully implement programs aimed at strengthening financial, economic, scientific and technological sovereignty,” reads the congratulatory message posted on the Kremlin’s website.
At the same time, Putin stressed that the countries are expanding their mutually beneficial partnership in every possible way, vigorously improving the mechanisms of the Union State. The President said he was confident that the allied relations between the brotherly peoples would only grow.
