The special Cup of Equals hockey tournament started at the Zvezdny Sports Palace in Lipetsk. It is dedicated to Autism Awareness Day.
Teams of special players from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Lipetsk will compete on the ice for two days (April 1 and 2).
Today, April 2, in addition to the matches, participants will have masterclasses at the Fern Flower Social Rehabilitation Center. Hockey players will make candles, soap and other things.
Special hockey teams include players with Down syndrome, autism spectrum disorders and other mental disabilities. Specialty hockey is a non-contact sport, there are no offsides or penalties.
