Forests and fish: what the Novgorod region exports abroad

The economic market situation in the world is in a difficult position due to sanctions and other difficulties of other states. Therefore, developing cooperation at present is not an easy task.

Industry and trade are in a difficult position, but at the same time the country is beginning to strengthen the position of its own production and increase its exports with partner countries.

Novgorod region has shown impressive results in recent years. The volume of manufactured goods is increasing in the region, leading to lower prices. Export is also growing.

In a relatively short time, large shipments of fish and seafood, oatmeal, potatoes, tulips, mineral fertilizers, lumber and many more went from the region of Novgorod to other countries.

Over the past year, the Novgorod region has increased its exports to Azerbaijan by 11%. A total of $4.9 million worth of products were exported there, said Denis Nosachev, the region’s investment policy minister.

“This year, as a result of nine-month results, the value of Novgorod’s product exports to Azerbaijan amounted to $10.5 million”

  • he said.

Not so long ago, the Novgorod enterprise exported 61.2 tons of potatoes to Azerbaijan. This was the first such agricultural delivery in recent years.

Also in March 2023, a batch of oatmeal went to Armenia from the Novgorod region. The batch volume was 520 kilograms. This batch of oatmeal was also the first of the year.

Last year, three consignments of rolled oats with a total weight of 21.3 tons were exported from the Novgorod region to Paraguay, Moldova and Uzbekistan.
