Russian military commissar Vladlen Tatarsky (Maxim Fomin) has died in an explosion at a Cyber Z Front debate club party at the Street Bar on Universitetskaya Embankment in St. Petersburg. Soon law enforcement managed to find out that this happened as a result of the detonation of an explosive in the bust, which was brought to the bar by a girl named Darya Trepova (Daria Trepova) . She was arrested and soon testified against journalist Roman Popkov, who allegedly directed her actions from Ukraine. The Eastern Herald Special Envoy Alexei Sochnev talks about Tatarsky and why such terrorist acts are likely to continue.
heroes and anti-heroes
Every event gives rise to both heroes and anti-heroes. In this armed conflict for the general public, if I may say so, Vladlen Tatarsky was born. Before that, he was mostly known to people immersed in the specifics of what is happening in the Donbass, to which Greater Russia did not pay attention.
He made himself known at the federal level, his posts are sent to each other by mothers as messengers, pensioners discuss him. Once I was on a bus and saw a pensioner watching “Morning Vladlen” on his cell phone.
Tatarsky spoke the same language as most of the participants in this conflict, both on the other side and on this one. He talked about understandable things. He was watched not only by Russians, but also by Ukrainians, including the military, in order to understand what was going on. The Russian army also preferred to watch it. People watch Solovyov, Skabeeva and others on TV. And those who do not have time to watch TV watched Tatarsky’s videos.
His language can conditionally be called the language of Vladimir Zhirinovsky. If you look at Solovyov, the mood can deteriorate significantly – he has a negative streak, brings up darkness and looks like Dracula in his jacket. And Tatarsky is understandable to everyone and is always optimistic, positive, even if things are going badly. And what else does a person sitting in a trench need to hear, except “here and there, ours have advanced”?
Moreover, Tatarsky explained why all this was necessary, because many were mistaken in the messages from Moscow. He answered the question of what is happening in the Donbass. He told me if Russia only needed Donbass, part of Ukraine, and in general, if we needed Ukraine to exist. He conveyed these meanings clearly and simply.
Some paid attention to his radical opinion, ignoring the fact that he actually said a lot of ironic things (this, of course, does not justify his call to “kill all” Ukrainians).
So yes, he was a very important person, and maybe the only new face that appeared in this conflict. It is impossible to compare it with anonymous telegram channels, even if it is about active fighters. He was a specific person, he was known by sight, he gave his first and last name. We knew what he was doing.
Tatarsky took part in the hostilities, risked his life, and he had many more options to blow himself up in a mine in Donbass than in St. Petersburg. In the battalion of Alexander Khodakovsky he was engaged in drones, calculations of their flights. He was involved in bloody battles in Mariupol.

who needs it
You can generate many versions. It is not worth looking for advantages here, because we are facing an obvious terrorist attack. A terrorist attack always has a purpose: to frighten society or intimidate a person associated with the object of terror.
In my opinion, this is the continuation of a series of terrorist attacks: the Kerch Bridge, Dasha Dugina and now Tatar. Of course, Ukraine denies all this. But what, tell them it’s really them? Of course not. It is clear that Tatarsky’s murder is a very, very good reason for Ukraine to boost the morale of the army.
Here I see the same carefully planned operation.
When they undermined the Kerch bridge, they used a blind man, drove an explosive charge through several ports. To do this, entire departments of intelligence agencies have to sit down, invent all this, plan the logistics. The murders of Darya Dugina and Tatarsky are also symbolic blows.
When there are no victories at the front and Ukraine pays a huge price in human lives to keep Bakhmut, it greatly demoralizes society. But the counter-offensive, which we have been talking about since November, is still not there. People look at the maps, see how the remaining territory in Bakhmut under the control of Ukraine is melting away. To maintain morale, you need victories. And whoever is responsible for the current terrorist attack, it is a moral victory for Ukraine.
Society needs answers
He asks: what happened and why and how did you let it happen? Not only Tatarsky died there. It was the most ordinary cafe – and not “especially for patriots”, as some say – with free entrance, and anyone could enter. It is located in the city center. Imagine you go there and an explosion is heard. The sea has suffered, among them there is a child – and in the summer there could be even more people.
How to talk to the company in this case? There are two options: either just announce something that you are sure of, or “tie” an understandable enemy to this case.
So far, the investigation has not provided the public with clear facts indicating that Darya Trepova (Daria Trepova) was a member of the FBK *, however, the Investigative Committee claims that the terrorist attack was planned, among other things, by this organization. I read unsubstantiated information on the net that Trepova donated to them. But here it should be noted that many people donated to them. If you take the lists and start studying them, there will also be those who work in the presidential administration – and in general there are a lot of people. And the big question is whether she donated before or after the organization was banned.
But the conclusions that the FBK* seeks to become a terrorist organization not only on paper, but also in the eyes of the FSB, are absolutely clear to me. Recently, in their YouTube videos, they call Russian soldiers “Russians”, rate their actions extremely negatively and play wicket.
Therefore, the chosen image of the enemy is clear here. Anyone who loves Russia, or doesn’t see themselves without Russia, even if they don’t support its political regime, will see FBK* as a rather aggressive group of people. Their statements are virtually indistinguishable from those of the Ukrainian propaganda media.

Who framed Darya Trepova (Daria Trepova)
Of course, Trepova didn’t act alone, because someone made this bust, gave it to her, and blew it up. She had a hard time, she broke up with her boyfriend, who left with another woman in Georgia. She loved him very much, constantly wrote to him about her feelings, she was very worried. And as she herself wrote on her social networks, she thought about suicide at least 200 times a day.
Late last year, she traveled overseas and apparently met her boyfriend. Perhaps, at the same time, Trepova met the one who recruited her and then used her. When she returned, she told everyone that she had a new job and her business was booming – she opened an individual entrepreneur for sending mail. Therefore, I believe that she is dishonest when she says that the journalist Roman Popkov, who is in Ukraine, framed her, because everything Trepova did next indicates that she understood everything perfectly.
Yes, his actions after the attack seem naive and undeveloped.
The first thing she writes in her message to a friend is “it’s a shame I didn’t die there”. Before that, she had met Tatarsky a few times. She wrote to him, pretending to be another person. She called herself Anastasia, went to meetings with him, gave him postcards – as the special services would say, gradually gained confidence in the object.
She may have been told there was a wiretap in the bust and she should give it to Tatarsky. But, having put the bust back on, she tried to leave, and only the military commander himself stopped her, inviting her to sit next to her. In fact, miraculously, she survived. And when the explosion happened, she fled the scene. If she had just been used, Trepova would have acted a little differently.
Then strange things happen. Two “secret” apartments were rented to him. It’s also strange for a person who only receives a wiretap. Overnight, she began deleting her social media accounts. I followed her nightly activity, and when she went online on VKontakte, I realized that she would soon be taken. At the same time, she bought a ticket for a plane flying abroad. Police guarded her at the airport, but she did not come.
How will it all end
State bodies can confine themselves to the version they have already prepared and say that the Ukrainians organized everything together with the FBK*. It is quite possible that the supporters of Navalny who remained in Russia will be scolded again.
But in the end, I think everything will end like with Dugina, because it is very difficult to resist such actions. The secret services must have a vast network of informants in the enemy camp. And once these terrorist attacks follow one another – the Kerch Bridge, Dugin, the entry of the RDK into the Bryansk region, Tatarsky – it tells us that even if our foreign intelligence services have informants, they do not work well .
So we have to work better.
After all, it won’t end there. Although Trepova was eventually detained, she managed to carry out her plan, and without much hesitation. You can remember the story of the Socialist-Revolutionary bombers, how many times they tried to blow up Grand Duke Sergei Alekseevich, and how many times they failed. Either the child intervened, then the horse, then something else. And in this cafe there was a child and a group of strangers, but that did not stop the customers from the terrorist attack. They have no moral code. Unfortunately, I’m sure there will be a sequel.
