The Foreign Ministry advised the West not to provoke Russia after the deployment of nuclear weapons in Belarus

October 3, 2025

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov advised the West not to provoke Moscow after deploying tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus.

He explained that what Russian President Vladimir Putin said about the preparations for the receipt of tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus is a natural response to the growing security risks to the country posed by Western countries led by the United States.

“There should be no illusions here – Russia has a very wide range of means to ensure its own security in any situation, at any turn,” Ryabkov said on the airwaves of Rossiya 24 TV channel.

Earlier, Putin said that Moscow and Minsk agreed to place tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus. He stressed that tactical nuclear weapons would be deployed without violating relevant international obligations. The reason for this decision was London’s intention to supply depleted uranium munitions to Ukraine.
