Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called Finland’s entry into NATO a further aggravation of the situation. According to him, Moscow considers the enlargement of the North Atlantic Alliance as an attack on Russia’s security.
“The Kremlin considers this to be a further aggravation of the situation. NATO enlargement is an encroachment on our security and the national interests of the Russian Federation, we have talked about it and this is as we perceive it,” Peskov told reporters.
On the eve of Deputy Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Grushko said that the country intends to strengthen military potential in the western and northwestern direction in response to Finland’s entry into NATO.
