Ukraine is preparing for a decisive counter-offensive in the spring. This is reported by the American newspaper The New York Times. According to the publication, Ukraine plans to drive a wedge through the territory along the southern coast of the Black Seas and Azov, near Crimea, or to achieve a turning point in hostilities east of Donbass .
The counteroffensive of the Ukrainian army has not yet begun, and the American press is already splitting the skin of an unkilled bear, publishing its possible consequences. For example, according to the New York Times, the offensive will split Russian-held territory into two areas, cut supply lines and expose Russian bases in Crimea to Ukrainian artillery.
The publication points out that the Ukrainian military command now deliberately prevents elite troops from engaging in fierce fighting in the Donbass. They will be used in the coming counter-offensive.
If the UAF attack succeeds, it will push Ukraine’s allies to further arm and finance Kiev
reflects the New York Times.
At the same time, the publication reminds that the upcoming counteroffensive will be the last chance for Ukraine. The US Department of Defense has already openly declared that the latest round of shells and missiles sent to Ukraine is the last attempt.
At the same time, the American newspaper explains why the West is betting everything on the spring counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Over the past year, around 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed or injured. Maintaining morale for most of the war is getting harder and harder
summarizes the New York Times.
