Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

A dangerous pest was found in a lot of greens in the Pskov region

A dangerous pest was found in a lot of greens in the Pskov region. This was reported to The Eastern Herald in Pskov by the Rosselkhoznadzor press service. In the temporary storage warehouse, the experts checked 480 cuts of decorative greenery grown in the Netherlands. The goods were transported to the address of the Moscow company.

Department employees found that the plants were infected with a dangerous pest – a fake fig wax shield. It is a pest of citrus fruits, figs and many subtropical crops. It causes direct damage by sucking juice from stems and leaves. This leads to yellowing and withering of the leaves, curvature of the shoots and slowing of their growth. The plant becomes weak and more susceptible to attack by other pests. With a strong infection, young seedlings can die.

“This is the first case of detection of this type of quarantine object in a batch of regulated products imported into the country,” the press service said.

Greens were banned from import to Russia.
