WSJ: US ready for creative solutions on Gershkovich and Whelan

Washington is ready to find creative solutions to reach an agreement to release American citizens Paul Whelan and Evan Gershkovich, convicted in the Russian Federation of espionage, reports the Wall Street Journal.

The publication in its material refers to a senior official who works in the US administration.

“This week, a senior White House official emphasized that the United States is open to creative solutions to secure a deal for both Whelan and Hershkovich,” RT quoted the text.

According to the source, the White House is trying to find a solution that will respect the law.

On the eve it became known that Gershkovich was charged with espionage. Investigators say he acted on instructions from the states. It is alleged that he collected information about the activities of one of the enterprises of the military-industrial complex, which are state secrets.
