The League of Arab States strongly condemned all racist and terrorist practices against the Palestinian people and the systematic violation of their basic human rights, and the use of a policy of violence and ethnic cleansing through displacement, settlement, house demolitions and sanctification, pointing out that Israel continues its aggressive actions that would undermine all efforts aimed at calming the situation. and threaten peace and security in the region and the world.
In a statement today on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Deir Yassin massacre, Dr. Saeed Abu Ali, Assistant Secretary-General of the League of Arab States and Head of the Palestinian and Occupied Arab Territories sector, stated that this horrific massacre that shook the conscience of humanity and the free world, claimed hundreds of martyrs among defenseless Palestinian women, children and elderly. When the Zionist gangs besieged the village of Deir Yassin and bombed it with mortars, then stormed it and opened fire indiscriminately, it led to the death of more than 250 Palestinians and the wounding of more than 300 others in a crime that is the largest in the crimes of genocide against the Palestinian people.
The statement added that this horrific massacre represented the actual beginning of the Nakba of the Palestinian people, as Israeli massacres and crimes against it continued, which led to the obliteration of most Palestinian cities and villages and the displacement of more than 850,000 who constituted half of the Palestinian people at the time. The massacre also represented strong evidence of the crimes of ethnic cleansing committed by it. Israel (the occupying power) since its inception and is still committed to bringing about demographic change and imposing a fait accompli policy on the ground. He continued: "On the anniversary of the painful massacre, the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States pays tribute to the Palestinian people who are steadfast on their land and to their righteous martyrs who rose as martyrs as a result of the continuous and escalating Israeli aggression".
He pointed out that Israel continues to commit heinous crimes, the latest of which was the burning of the town of Hawara, the desecration of holy places in Jerusalem, Hebron, and others, and the repeated attacks on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan, with repeated incursions and brutal attacks on worshipers and those who are in i`tikaaf, and the continuous siege on the Gaza Strip, and so on. It is an Israeli aggressive act that undermines all efforts aimed at calming the situation and threatens peace and security in the region and the world.
The statement also called for a serious stand by the international community to deter such crimes, and to put pressure on Israel (the occupying power) to comply immediately with the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy, and oblige it to stop its crimes against the Palestinian people, and to implement its obligations stipulated in the resolutions of international legitimacy, especially those of the United Nations. Advocating for a just solution based on "The two-state solution"And in a way that secures international protection for the Palestinian people on their land in the way of ending the occupation and enabling them to exercise their legitimate rights to freedom and independence in their sovereign state with Jerusalem as its capital.
