Pope Francis in a message to Christians called on the peoples of the Earth to trust and peace
Pope Francis on Sunday addressed a message to Christians in honor of Easter, in which he called for building trust between peoples and fighting for peace.
“Let us also hasten to embark on the path of mutual trust, of trust between peoples and nations,” Vatican News quoted the pontiff as saying.
Francis prayed for the resumption of dialogue between Israelis and Palestinians, for help in Lebanon, for people who have lost loved ones to the conflict in Ukraine, for a Syria “still waiting for peace” and the end of all the wars on Earth.
It is noted that more than one hundred thousand Catholics gathered to listen to the Pope’s blessing in honor of Easter in St. Peter’s Square in Rome. The pope, according to tradition, delivered a message from the loggia of St. Peter’s Basilica, and after mass he rode in a popemobile and greeted the faithful.
