Edtstadler: Austria ready to arrest Putin on a warrant from the International Criminal Court

In an interview with german media, Minister for European Affairs and Constitution in the Austrian Chancellery, Karoline Edtstadler, said that if Russian President Vladimir Putin enters the country, he will be arrested on the orders of the International Criminal Court. Edtstadler stressed that Austria will strictly adhere to its international obligations under criminal law.

In addition, the Minister noted that Austria is not politically neutral, it fully supports the Ukrainian people in humanitarian and economic terms. However, Austria does not supply arms to the region.

“We will respect our obligations under international and criminal law. If he (Putin) sets foot on Austrian territory, he must be arrested,” the minister stressed.
