The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that the Russian Federation, in response to Canada’s restrictive measures, banned 333 Canadians from entering the country.
“Entry to the Russian Federation is permanently closed to 333 Canadian citizens,” the ministry said in a statement.
It is stated that representatives of the Canadian leadership, politicians, activists and athletes who are linked to the spread of Russophobia have been included in the “stop list”. These restrictive measures are intended to induce them to modify their behaviour.
Under the restrictive measures have been the Governor General of Canada Mary Simon, the head of the Ministry of Finance of the province of Ontario Peter Bethlenfalvi, the Olympic figure skating champions Megan Duhamel and Tesa Virtue and others.
Earlier it was reported that Canada had imposed sanctions on Concord Management and Consulting, owned by Russian businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin, as well as M Invest and the Commonwealth of Officers for International Security.
It has also been learned that the UK has expanded the sanctions list by adding 11 new posts.
