Built as a replica of an ancient Arab village in the Bedouin style, the abandoned village of Dukhan is now completely abandoned for adventure seekers in the Qatari desert.
The Philippine photographer, Paul Abjero, told CNN that the village is a hidden gem that rarely comes to visitors, as it is more than an hour’s drive from Doha, and access to it requires driving a strong vehicle due to the ruggedness of the unpaved road in the desert.
Although it is a village built with the aim of producing a movie or a TV show, Abjero believes that any visitor tends to believe that it is a real village, inhabited by a real community, then abandoned, and visiting it is like moving to a different era.
