The Federation Council approved a law that provides for the creation of a unified military registration register, as well as electronic summonses to appear at the military registration and enlistment office.
163 senators supported the innovation, while Lyudmila Narusova voted against. The law will come into force after it is signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin. His press secretary Dmitry Peskov promised today that the head of state will review the law on electronic subpoenas when it arrives for signature.
On the eve of the State Duma adopted the document immediately in second and third readings. The law provides for the possibility of serving subpoenas not only against signature on the recruit, but also by registered mail, through the MFC, as well as electronically – through the portal of state services. From now on, the summons is considered served, whether the person liable for military service has noticed it or not.
Also, the employer will be required to transfer citizens’ data for military registration.
Earlier, Andrey Kartapolov, chairman of the State Duma Committee on Defense, said electronic alerts from military registration and enlistment offices would duplicate traditional diaries.
