Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

The Kremlin has declared that the Black Sea will never be a NATO sea

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the Black Sea will never become a NATO sea, because it is a common sea and there must be indivisible security.

“The Black Sea will never be a ‘NATO sea’. It is a common sea for all coastal states, it should be a sea of cooperation, interaction and security. Moreover, it should be indivisible security,” Peskov told reporters.

The day before, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmitry Kuleba, said that the Black Sea should become a “NATO sea”, and also stressed the need for its demilitarization. He noted with regret that the West does not have a coherent strategy for the Black Sea, but Russia has always had one.
