MOSCOW — Ukrainian drone strikes over the weekend left one person dead and five injured in the Lugansk People’s Republic, officials said Sunday, as separate attacks on Russia’s Belgorod Region killed one civilian and wounded three more. Russian forces, meanwhile, struck vessels at a Ukrainian Black Sea port using Geran-4 drones, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

In the Lugansk region, Governor Leonid Pasechnik said attacks targeted six municipalities over Saturday and Sunday. Air defense systems and mobile fire groups destroyed more than 40 aerial targets, he said; some drones broke through. One person was killed and another injured in the city of Lysychansk. In Svatove, strikes hit a motorcyclist and a truck, wounding two men. Attacks on the Bilokurakynskyi district and on the city of Kreminna injured a 48-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman, respectively. Pasechnik posted the figures via the MAX messenger.

In Belgorod Region, a border territory that has absorbed consistent Ukrainian strikes throughout the Russian operation in Ukraine, regional authorities reported a series of separate incidents. Near the village of Repyakhovka in the Krasnoyaruzhsky district, a vehicle hit an explosive device, killing the male driver; a second passenger was hospitalized in critical condition with a head injury and shrapnel wounds. In the village of Zamostye in the Grayvoronsky district, an FPV drone struck a cyclist, leaving him with chest and abdominal wounds. In the town of Valuyki, a drone attack left a man with an open thigh fracture and the amputation of two fingers. Damage was also reported across ten additional settlements, including Shebekino and Grayvoron, the regional headquarters said.

The Defense Ministry released footage it said showed overnight Geran-4 Seeker drone strikes on a ferry, a dry cargo ship, and a seiner at the port of Chornomorsk in Odesa Region. The ministry said the seiner had been converted to launch unmanned surface boats. The stated purpose of the strikes was to reduce Ukraine’s capacity to transport weapons and military equipment in the Black Sea operational zone.

Earlier aerial exchanges in July targeted Kyiv and other Ukrainian population centers in some of the conflict’s heaviest barrages. Sunday’s Chornomorsk strikes followed a different logic: maritime supply infrastructure, not power networks or cities.

Independent verification of the Defense Ministry’s footage or the full extent of damage at Chornomorsk was not immediately available. Ukraine’s military had not publicly addressed Sunday’s drone exchanges in Lugansk or the Belgorod incidents by the time of publication.
