A quarter of Russians choose doctors based on recommendations from friends, poll finds

A joint survey conducted by IC Rosgosstrakh and Otkritie Bank showed that about a quarter of Russians choose doctors on the recommendation of friends or relatives. The survey results are RT.

At the same time, about 15% prefer to search for doctors closer to home or work, and 12% look at reviews on the Internet and focus on them.

Also, 10.7% of respondents answered that they go to the district polyclinic and do not choose doctors, 9.1% pay attention to the opinion of other doctors about their colleagues. Slightly less often, a specialist is chosen on the basis of cost, even more rarely at the time of the visit – so that it suits the patient.

“28% of Russians said they had a negative treatment experience, so now they choose doctors with great respect,” the study notes.

The signs of professionalism for Russians are mainly qualifications (29%), along with extensive work experience (25%) and a tight appointment record (12%). 39% of respondents called a doctor’s age a sign of experience and 36% said age didn’t matter.

The survey involved 1,222 citizens over the age of 18 from all regions of Russia.

Earlier, VTsIOM conducted a survey on the attitude of Russians towards Russian President Vladimir Putin. It turned out that 79.1% of respondents trust the leader of the country.
