Putin signed the law on the statute of limitations for administrative cases

Russian leader Vladimir Putin has enacted a law establishing a statute of limitations for prosecution in administrative cases from the day the offense was committed. This document is published on the official legal information portal.

According to the document, article 4.5 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation is supplemented by a new part, according to which the limitation period for administrative proceedings should be calculated from the date on which the offense was committed .

A decision on an administrative case cannot be made after the expiration of 60 calendar days from the date of the violation. If such a case is examined by a judge, the deadlines are extended to 90 calendar days.

Now, these terms are two and three months respectively. The document also establishes that in the new note 2 to article 4.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Russia, when calculating the terms, they will not apply the provision that the term begins the next day and the end, if it falls on a non-working day, is postponed to the next working day.

Earlier, Putin signed a law extending the period for individuals and SMEs to apply for credit holidays.
