Maputo: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar traveled in a ‘Made in India’ (Made in India) train during his visit to Mozambique and held extensive talks with the Transport Minister on the issue of expanding the scope of rail network, electric vehicles and waterways connectivity in the country. . Jaishankar reached Mozambique’s capital Maputo on Thursday on a three-day visit and met the speaker of the African country’s parliament to strengthen bilateral ties. Jaishankar is the first External Affairs Minister of India to pay an official visit to Mozambique.

He tweeted that he traveled from Maputo to Machava in a ‘Made in India’ train with Mozambican Transport Minister Matias Magala. Apart from interacting with the people of the Indian community in Maputo, Jaishankar also offered prayers at a temple.

Prior to Mozambique, Jaishankar visited Uganda, where he held talks with the country’s top leadership, including President Yoweri Museveni, on possible cooperation in trade, infrastructure, energy and defense sectors.
