In Japan, 10 days later, a crashed UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter of the Japan Self-Defense Forces was found, reports RIA Novosti in reference to the Kyodo news agency.
The helicopter flew last Thursday, it took off from Miyakojima base. 10 minutes after takeoff, it disappeared from radar.
The report said the helicopter chassis was found in the sea at a depth of 106m, and the bodies of five crew members and passengers were also found. Currently, work is underway to bring them to the surface.
Japanese media reported that eight of the 10 people on board were high-ranking military personnel, including Yuichi Sakamoto, commander of the Ground Self-Defense Forces’ 8th Division, who was appointed to the post on March 31.
