DA Hike in Himachal Pradesh: Once again great news is coming for government employees. Himachal Pradesh government has given double good news for the existing employees.
The state government has announced to increase the dearness allowance (DA Hike) along with restoring the old pension of government employees. The DA hike announced by the government will benefit 2.15 lakh employees and 1.90 lakh pensioners. The Himachal government has increased the DA by 3 percent for employees and pensioners. Now 34 percent DA will be available as against the earlier 31 percent.
The burden of 500 crores will fall on the exchequer.
As per the information provided by the government, the 3% DA hike will put an additional burden of about 500 crores on the Himachal Pradesh government exchequer. Besides this, CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu also announced a monthly allowance of Rs 1,500 from June 2023 to 9,000 women of Spiti who are above 18 years of age. Let us tell you that DA and DR are increased twice a year by the government. Dearness Allowance (DA) is given to government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners.
1.36 lakh employees will be benefited On the other hand, the Himachal government has issued a notification to restore the old pension scheme from April 1, 2023. This will benefit 1.36 lakh employees of the state government. These employees will not face deduction under the National Pension Scheme (NPS). The Chief Secretary of the State has issued a notification to implement the OPS. Explain that the Congress had promised to restore the old pension (OPS) during the 2022 assembly elections.
