The Houthis’ refusal to acknowledge some of the prisoners is immoral

April 19, 2023

Awad Manea Al-Qahtani – Riyadh:

The head of the joint negotiation committee of the coalition countries for prisoners and detainees, Major General Nasser bin Thunayan, confirmed that what is being circulated by some leaders of the Houthi prisoners’ committee and some of their communication platforms regarding the lack of recognition of the 104-member batch of prisoners, confirmed that this is a falsification of the facts and represents an immoral procedure And inhumane.

He added that the falsification of facts about the last batch of prisoners is an extension of the Houthis’ denial of receiving its members and fighters in past rounds, and a continuation of the Houthis’ behavior in previous initiatives. He indicated that this explains the selectivity in recognizing the reception of names and certain personalities with social and class affiliations, and indicated that the failure to recognize some prisoners It comes in the context of the Houthis’ current position on changing internal alliances and loyalties and their reflection on the people and fighters captured by these alliances and components, or in the context of racial and regional social marginalization.
