President Biden announces he is ready to send additional forces to Sudan

US President Joe Biden has announced that he is ready to send additional forces to Sudan to provide security for US officials in connection with the difficult situation there.

In particular, he informed Congress leaders that the troops deployed to Djibouti, Ethiopia and Sudan to evacuate diplomats would remain in Djibouti until the situation improves. Furthermore, additional forces are ready to be deployed in the region if necessary.

According to TASS, according to US law, the president must notify Congress of the use of the aircraft in such cases. Joe Biden explained that he made the decision to evacuate as part of the responsibility to keep the citizens of the United States safe, as well as considering the constitutional powers of the Commander-in-Chief and Chief Executive.
