Japan and the EU have opposed a total ban on exports to Russia, according to the Financial Times

April 25, 2023

Representatives of Japan and the European Union have spoken out against the American idea of a complete ban on the export of goods to Russia by the G7 countries. It is claimed that such a solution is not feasible. According to the Financial Times newspaper, sources said that such a proposal has no practical value and cannot be implemented in reality.

“From the point of view of our business strategy, this is unrealistic”, – said one of the sources. He pointed out that there are other ways to achieve the goals without such an export ban being necessary.

Thus, the authorities of Japan and EU countries believe that banning exports to Russia is not an effective way to achieve their goals, and other options to solve the problem should be considered.
