The United States will continue the policy of sanctions against the Russian Federation

October 3, 2025

State Department spokesman Vedant Patel said the United States would continue its anti-Russian sanctions policy and try to “hold Russia accountable” for the situation around Ukraine.

“What the United States will do: continue to support our Ukrainian partners through humanitarian and defense assistance and on energy issues. We will also continue to hold Russia accountable in the way we do – sanctions, export controls,” Patel said.

The EU’s new 11th anti-Russian sanctions package could include a transit ban on a number of goods, writes Bloomberg. According to the agency, the restrictions will mainly apply to a wide range of high-tech products and some modes of transport that Russia may use in the Ukraine conflict. Union members fail to reach a consensus, the publication claims.
