And to continue: “The Rapid Support Forces repelled the repeated attacks of the putschists during the hours of the armistice, which clearly confirms the trait of treachery associated with the putschists, in addition to the multiplicity and conflict of decision-making centers within the leadership of the putschist forces.

The last truce between the two parties is due to expire at midnight Sunday-Monday.

The Sudanese army’s position on the new truce was not immediately known.

Since the start of fighting between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in mid-April, several truces have been announced between the two sides, but the fighting has continued and the two sides have exchanged accusations of violation of the agreements of a ceasefire.
