Kabul. At least 45 people were injured when a roof collapsed during a wedding ceremony in Nijrab district of Afghanistan’s Kapisa province. The news agency Xinhua has given this report on Tuesday quoting the local police.
Reports say many of the injured are in critical condition and have been hospitalised. Roof collapses have been common in Afghanistan, possibly due to heavy rains and floods that hit 23 of Afghanistan’s 34 provinces in March. I have seen such incidents.
At least nine people were killed and 74 others were injured in the natural disaster, according to the Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority.
