Since 1999, China has sent medical teams to assist Nepal 14 times respectively. A total of over two hundred Chinese doctors worked at the BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital in the Chitwan region, which was built with Chinese assistance. The 14th batch of the Chinese medical aid team to Nepal visited a clinic in Kathmandu during this year’s International Workers’ Day. He provided free medical care to around 1,000 Nepalese and Chinese people.
It is noteworthy that by the end of March 2023, the 14th Chinese medical team sent to Nepal has been working in Nepal for 9 months. The 17 doctors of the medical team have treated over 7,500 outpatients, performed over 2,000 surgeries, and treated nearly 9,500 patients through Chinese traditional medicine at BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital. Apart from them, he often goes out and provides free treatment to Nepalese people living in different areas of Nepal and Chinese people based in Nepal.
During this International Labor Day, the Chinese medicine team provided free treatment to local farmers, school teachers and students, Nepalese media personnel and Chinese and Nepali workers involved in the Belt and Road construction project respectively, and also organized lectures on Chinese traditional medicine in Kathmandu .
