Chinese badminton player Lin Dan and Malaysian badminton player Lee Chongwei have been inducted into the 2023 BWF Hall of Fame. BWF will organize a selection ceremony for both the players on May 26 in Malaysia. This was announced by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) on 2 May.
Significantly, Lin Dan is the only player so far to have won the Olympic badminton singles gold medal consecutively. He is also the only player in the history of badminton to have won gold medals five times in men’s singles at the Badminton World Championships. In team competition, Lin Dan helped the Chinese badminton team win the Thomas Cup six times and the Sudirman Cup five times. At the same time, as a famous player in the same generation of Lin Dan, Li Chongwei managed to win the silver medal three times in the Olympics.
