274 million domestic trips in China during the May Day holiday

The Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced the status of the cultural and tourism market during the 2023 May Day holiday on May 3rd. According to the data center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, there were a total of 274 million domestic tourist visits across the country, an increase of 70.83% from the same period last year, and the domestic tourism revenue was 1.48 billion 56 million yuan. , registering an increase of 128.90% over the same period last year.

During the holiday, a total of 47 thousand 5 hundred mass cultural activities were organized across the country, in which about 16 crore 60 lakh participants took part. A total of 31,100 commercial performances were held nationwide, with a box office revenue of 1.51 billion yuan and an audience of approximately 86,549,000. With this, the number of domestic sightseeing tickets was more than 2 times higher than the same period last year, outbound travel orders increased almost 7 times.
