Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Germany launches probe into suspicion of leaking state secrets about Zelenskyy’s visit

Law enforcement in Germany has opened an investigation for suspected disclosure of state secrets due to the publication of data on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Berlin, TASS reports citing a Berlin police statement.

“A specialized department of the criminal police land administration has opened an investigation into suspected disclosure of information that is a state secret,” the report said.

It is stated that an article appeared in one of the Berlin newspapers, which provides confidential information about Zelenskyy’s planned trip. At the same time, it is emphasized that the Berlin police did not provide information that could compromise the visit of the Ukrainian President.

The Tagesspiegel edition reported the day before that Zelenskyy intended to come to Berlin on May 13 at the invitation of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

Later it became known that Kyiv was not happy with the disclosure of details of the Ukrainian president’s upcoming trip to Berlin, so it could be canceled.
