The Council of the League of Arab States decided, at the ministerial level, to form an Arab ministerial contact group that includes: the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the Secretary-General of the Arab League, to undertake communication with the Sudanese parties, influential countries regionally and internationally, and relevant international organizations and groupings, to settle the crisis in Sudan, and to make efforts from In order to reach a complete and sustainable ceasefire, and work to address the causes of the crisis in a way that meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people and their aspiration for stability and security.
The Council affirmed – in a resolution it issued entitled “Developments of the situation in the Republic of Sudan” at the end of its extraordinary session, which was held under the presidency of Egypt – that the Arab Ministerial Contact Group will undertake coordination with the General Secretariat of the League and international and international relief organizations and bodies, to provide urgent humanitarian and medical support to citizens and displaced persons inside Sudan through the concerned authorities, as well as for those looking for a safe haven in neighboring countries that receive refugees to help them bear the increasing burdens, as well as urging the Arab and international donor countries to provide humanitarian assistance to the Sudanese people.
The Council called for the need to fully respect Sudan’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity, not to interfere in its internal affairs, to deal with the current crisis as a Sudanese internal matter, to preserve state institutions and prevent their collapse, and to prevent any external interference in Sudanese affairs, in order to avoid fueling conflict and threatening regional peace and security. .
