Old man stabs high school student in Japan

Tokyo. A 60-year-old man attacked a junior high student with a knife in Japan’s capital Tokyo on Wednesday morning.

The Kyodo news agency quoted police as saying that the incident took place in Tokyo’s Ota ward. The student was taken to a hospital and his injuries were not considered life-threatening. The report said police had gathered at the scene of the alleged attack, about 400 meters (1,300 ft) southwest of Japan Railways Kamata Station. Arrested that person. A blood-stained knife was found nearby.

According to Japanese broadcaster NHK, the 61-year-old man has confessed to his crime. Police were investigating the incident, but the reasons have not yet been revealed.
