Islamabad. Security forces have foiled an attack on an army checkpost in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province, killing five terrorists.
In a statement late on Friday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army’s media arm, said the incident took place in Hoshab area of Balochistan on Thursday night. An operation was launched during which a heavy exchange of fire took place between a group of terrorists and security forces.
Five terrorists were killed during the encounter, and a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered. The operation is on to trace the remaining terrorists in the surrounding areas, the statement said. Together with the nation, we are determined to thwart attempts to harm the peace, stability and progress of Balochistan.
