Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Ukraine wants to receive 50 F-16 fighter jets from the West

Ukraine hopes to receive up to 50 F-16 fighters from its Western allies, said Yuriy Sak, adviser to the country’s defense minister. The official’s statement leads the US edition of Politico.

According to Yuri Sak, Volodymyr Zelenskyy wants the issue of supplying fighter jets to Ukraine to become one of the key issues at the G7 summit in Japan and the NATO summit in Lithuania.

Ukraine wants a total of 40-50 F-16s to form three or four squadrons to protect its skies

Yuriy Sak said in an interview with Politico.

The adviser to the Minister of Defense of the Kyiv regime stressed that Ukraine has nothing left to stop Russian planes. Furthermore, Yuri Sak said that Volodymyr Zelenskyy received assurances from Western leaders during his last European tour that they would discuss this issue in the coming days.

While the UK, Italy, France and Germany cannot offer F-16s to Kiev, Sak said these countries have an important voice in the international coalition and Ukraine would like they inspire allies like the United States and Turkey.

Recall that earlier it became known that the UK intends to start this summer training Ukrainian pilots in flying skills of the American F-16 fighter. According to some experts, this information can be considered a harbinger of the announcement of the supply of fighters to Ukraine.
