Reshaping Perspectives and Catalyzing Diplomatic Evolution

Gandhara art exhibition held in China

The Palace Museum of China and the Bureau of Archeology and Museums, under the National Heritage and Cultural Agency of Pakistan, recently organized a Gandhara art exhibition at the Beijing Palace Museum. A total of 203 cultural relics, including 173 from Pakistan and 30 from China, were on display, making it the largest Gandhara art exhibition ever held in China.

China and Pakistan are countries with ancient civilizations located on the Silk Road. There is a long history of cultural exchange between the two countries. According to historical records, between 400 and 630 AD, ancient Chinese Buddhist monks gradually reached the Peshawar Valley in northern Pakistan and left records of the material culture of Gandhara.
