Islamabad. A Pakistani court on Wednesday extended till May 31 its order barring former prime minister Imran Khan from arrest in any case registered after May 9.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) gave the order after the government’s counsel sought more time to furnish information about the cases registered against Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan (70). were present. The court was hearing PTI’s plea seeking details of all cases registered against Khan. Khan’s party claims that more than 100 cases have been registered against the PTI chief across the country.
The court granted the public prosecutor’s request and adjourned the hearing till May 31, The Dawn newspaper reported. In a major relief to Khan on Friday, the Islamabad High Court granted him two weeks in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case. Khan was granted protective bail and ordered a stay on the arrest of the former prime minister till May 15 in any case registered anywhere in the country. was declared ‘illegal’.
